The collection reveal will be pushed until one week from today (September 14, 23:59 UTC) at minimum. Again, work reveals will not happen until every participant who completed their assignment has a gift.

Deadline Extension

As we approach the deadline for work submission, the number of extensions granted means that we're actually going to push the remaining deadlines by 24 hours. If you have already sent an email and been granted an extension for longer, that extension still applies and will not be affected by the 24-hour push.

This means that the new schedule is as follows:
Works Due: September 1, 23:59 UTC (countdown to deadline)
Works Revealed: September 8, 23:59 UTC (countdown to work reveals)
Creators Revealed: September 15, 23:59 UTC (countdown to creator reveals)

While there are no universal guidelines for making a work completely screenreader-friendly, here are a few links concerning best practices for formatting works that are more likely to be accessible to screenreader users.

Some final clarifications:

Love & Legends and Villainous Nights: We're having trouble locating any information about any of the nominated characters' chromaticity. The wiki for the Lovestruck universe doesn't appear to have character pages for most of the nominated characters. Is there context we're missing?

If the nominator does not reply in 48 hours, we will accept these tags on the assumption that they were good-faith nominations.

DCU (Comics): Some of these have disambiguations that don't appear to match the fandom they're nominated under. Is there context we're missing?

Marvel 616: Disambiguate as (616), (Marvel 616), or similar.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Disambiguate as (Marvel Cin Universe) or similar.

Doctor Who (2005): Disambiguate as (DW) or (New Who) or similar.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018): Disambiguate as (She-Ra 2018), (SPOP 2018), or similar.

Star Wars Sequel Trilogy: Disambiguate as (SWST), (SW Sequels), or similar.

The Expanse (TV): Disambiguate as (Expanse TV) or similar.

The Mandalorian (TV): Disambiguate as (Mandalorian) or similar.

Nominations for Nyota Uhura (Star Trek AOS) and Victor Stone (DCU) were not approved, as there are already nominations for these characters (with different disambiguations) in the tagset. Please remember to disambiguate your nominations clearly, especially if the character you are nominating appears in other properties besides the fandom you are nominating them under. For example, while "Spock (Star Trek)" is a canonical tag, if you only mean to nominate Spock from the Alternate Original Series movies, you must include that in the tag, e.g., the nomination might read "Spock (Star Trek AOS)".

Nominations that are not disambiguated appropriately will not be accepted.

If there is a possibility that your nominated character or group doesn't appear to qualify based on a quick google search, or if you expect there will be questions about your nomination, please leave a comment here with the necessary context.

For example:

"I'm nominating Nick Fury under Marvel's Ultimate Universe. The search results might be confusing since there are so many Nick Furies, but the Ultimate Universe version of Fury is Black."

Or:

"I want to nominate James Nichols from Eric Flint's Ring of Fire books. Since he might not come up on google search, I wanted to let you know he's canonically Black."

Chromatic Character Celebration is a gift exchange for art, fic, podfic, and vids that focus on one or more chromatic characters.

For the purposes of this event, a chromatic character is any character who is not white, not portrayed by a white actor, and/or is a member of a marginalized racial/ethnic group. This includes mixed-race characters (including white-appearing mixed-race characters) and Romani characters. More information about who counts as a chromatic character is available below.
